1. Who we are

Transporter operates a freight-matching marketplace for British Columbia. This Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information, consistent with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial rules.

2. What we store

Depending on how you use the platform, we may store:

• Account email and name (and profile image if provided via sign-in)
• Organization / carrier profile details (company name, routes, vehicles, bio)
• Verification fields (e.g. NSC number, insurance coverage and expiry), only if you submit them through our verification system — this is not part of the current sign-up or bidding flow
• Shipments, capacity offers, bids, awards, reviews, and dispute notes you create
• Technical logs needed to run and secure the service (e.g. session tokens)

3. Why we use it

We use this information to operate matching and bidding, communicate about your account, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not currently show verification or insurance status to other users. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who can see it

Other users see information you publish on listings and bids (for example cargo summary, route, bid amount, and carrier display name). Service providers that host our database, auth, or hosting (such as our cloud and email providers) process data only to provide those services to us.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes. To request deletion of your personal information, email mckellardavey@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and delete or anonymize data we are not required to retain.

6. Security

We use industry-standard hosting and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password for linked identity providers.

7. Your rights

Subject to PIPEDA, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent where applicable (which may limit platform features). Contact us at the email above.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
